BENEFÍCIOS ADICIONAIS DA HOMEOPATIA COMO COADJUVANTE NO TRATAMENTO DA PERIODONTITE CRÔNICA

A proposta homeopática (PH) no tratamento da Periodontite Crônica (PC) visa o equilíbrio do doente. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os benefícios adicionais de uma PH como coadjuvante no tratamento periodontal convencional (TPC). Participaram deste estudo tipo Ensaio Clinico Randomizado Controlado Cego n=60, ambos os gêneros, idades (35 e 70 anos), sendo 40 com PC e 20 sem PC. Pacientes com PC, nível de inserção clínica (NIC) e profundidade de sondagem (PS) ≥ 4 mm, receberam dois tratamentos: TPC (GPC) ou TPC mais PH padronizada (GPT), que incluía Berberis, , Mercurius solubilis/ Belladona/ Hepar sulphur, e Pyrogeniun,. Foram feitas avaliações iniciais e após 90 dias. Avaliação de qualidade de vida (QV) pelo formulário FACIT-G (versão 4). As respostas locais e sistêmicas da PC foram avaliadas por parâmetros clínicos e laboratoriais, respectivamente. Os dados foram analisados por teste t para amostras independentes e pareados e ANOVA, sendo o nível de significância estabelecido em 5%. Os indivíduos com PC apresentaram, no início do estudo em relação ao controle (GSC), maiores impactos negativos na QV, Colesterol LDL e glicemia aumentada. Após 90 dias, houve redução significativa nos domínios estudados (QV) em ambos os grupos com PC, excetuando domínio funcional (GPC) e no domínio social-familiar (GPT); todos os parâmetros sistêmicos avaliados sofreram redução, exceto Colesterol LDL e HDL, em GPC, e Colesterol HDL, em GPT. Houve um ganho em NIC apenas em GPT (+0,51 mm), após 90 dias, embora tenha havido uma redução da PS, dos níveis de placa visível e do sangramento a sondagem em ambos os grupos, em todos os períodos. Concluindo, a TPC foi eficaz na redução de parâmetros clínicos e sistêmicos, e na melhoria na QV em curto prazo (90 dias). A PH, como coadjuvante a TPC, otimizou a melhora de alguns parâmetros clínicos, metabólicos e relacionados a QV.

ABSTRACT

The homeopathic proposal (PH) in the treatment of Chronic Periodontitis (PC) seeks to the balance of the patient.. Thus, the objective of this study was to assess the additional benefits of a PH as an adjunctive in conventional periodontal treatment (TPC). To participate in this “Blind Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial”,n= 60, both genders, ages (35 and 70 years), 40 with PC and 20 without PC Patients with PC, clinical attachment level (NIC) and probing depth (PS) ≥ 4 mm received two treatments: TPC (GPC) or TPC plus standardized PH (GPT) Berberis,, Mercurius solubilis / Belladonna / Hepar sulfur/Pyrogeniun,Initial assessments were made and after 90 days. The quality of life (QV) was evaluated by FACIT-G (version 4), while local and systemic responses to PC were evaluated by clinical and laboratory parameters, respectively.The data were analyzed by t-test for independent samples, paired t-test and ANOVA, being the significance level established in 5%. Individuals with PC presented, at the beginning of the study in relation to the control (GSC), the greatest negative impacts in QV, and enhanced values of LDL cholesterol and blood glucose. After 90 days, there was a significant reduction in the domains studied (QV) in both groups with PC, except in the functional domain (GPC) and social-family (GPT); all systemic parameters evaluated declined, except LDL and HDL Cholesterol in GPC, and HDL Cholesterol in GPT. There was a gain in NIC only in GPT (+0.51 mm) after 90 days, although there was a PS reduction in the level of visible plaque and bleeding on probing in both groups in all periods. Conclusion, the TPC was effective in reducing clinical and systemic, and improvement in QoL in the short term (90 days). The PH, as an adjunctive to TPC, optimized the improvement of some clinical, metabolic and related to QV parameters.
